Ant-Man star Michelle Pfeiffer has confirmed Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is set for release in 2022. The actor portrayed Janet Van Dyne in the second film of the MCU franchise, Ant-Man and the Wasp. Her character was the original superhero Wasp before her daughter Hope took the mantel over in that film. Janet was last seen turning to dust at the end of Ant-Man. And the Wasp but was subsequently resurrected by the Avengers in Avengers: Endgame.

Ant-Man and the Wasp delved deep into the workings and lore of The Quantum Realm. Which went on to have a major part in Avengers: Endgame. During the second Ant-Man film. The titular hero, played by Paul Rudd, and Van Dyne’s daughter Hope (Evangeline Lilly).Help her father Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) set off into the realm in order to find Janet who had been stuck there for 31 years after being shrunk to a subatomic level. While a fun adventure for that film. The Quantum Realm, in terms of the MCU, presents a much broader world of possibilities. The Quantum Realm could open up potential doors to the multiverse. Which seems to heavily factor into Marvel’s Phase 4.

On Instagram, Pfeiffer posted a photo of the Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania logo captioned with “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. Coming 2022!” This comes shortly after Disney’s Investor Day announcements. Which saw the reveal of many new MCU films and TV shows for 2021 and beyond. Lead cast members Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly were confirmed to be returning, as well as series director Peyton Reid. The Disney announcement also promised the introduction of classic comic villain Kang the Conqueror (Jonathan Majors).
