Simu Liu, star of Marvel Studios’ Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, has shared an image from the headquarters posing with Captain America’s shield and Thor’s Mjolnir. In development since Marvel formed its independent film studio, the 25th installment of the Marvel Cinematic Universe introduces Liu’s titular hero as he is forced to confront his past and his father’s shadowy organization, the Ten Rings. The film will not only mark the first Asian-led MCU outing, but it will also reintroduce the proper Mandarin after Iron Man 3’s double fake-out.

Liu took to Instagram to share glimpses from a recent visit to Marvel Studios’ headquarters. In addition to offering followers a look at the walls of comics and merchandise seen around the building, the 32-year-old star also showed a photo of himself posing with Captain America’s iconic vibranium shield and Thor’s magical hammer Mjolnir. As the roster of talent both in front of and behind the camera continues to grow and become more diverse, it’s become clear that Marvel is not only looking for smart talent but also those able to better represent the stories they’re telling. From his drive for better Asian representation across media and transparent honesty regarding his frustrations with his breakout project Kim’s Convenience, Liu has proven time and again that this drive is carried within him. But more than that, he’s also shown that he is just like those who follow him on social media, a true fan of the world of comic book blockbusters.

Seeing the delight in Liu’s face as he roams even the empty halls of Marvel Studios is just as exciting for fans as it is for the Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings star. That love has also proven to be a two-way streak with the studio, given their birthday surprise for Liu was to release the first trailer offering the first look at his turn as the hero. With just three months left until the film debuts in theaters, fans should look forward to Liu and Marvel sharing more teases leading up to its release.
