It was long rumored that Disney+ had kept something big in stores for the fans of The Mandalorian at the end of its first season. But no one expected it to be revealed so early in the 2nd season of the show. Being a star wars franchise, it would not be that much of a shock to see some old character making a surprise cameo in the series. And, it did happen right away in the first episode of The Mandalorian season 2. But that wasn’t all that the show had under the curtains.

Surprises In The Show

A lot of Easter eggs and references were noticeable in the first episode of the new season. Twitter too used their wits and brains to fuse Baby Yoda into its user interface as a celebration of the new season’s premiere. In the beginning of “Chapter 9”, Mando (played by Pedro Pascal) crosses paths with Cobb Vanth (played by Timothy Olyphant). Cobb is Mos Pelgo’s marshal on Tatooine. He is shown to be equipped with an Mandalorian body armor that closely resembles the one worn by Boba Fett. He reveals that he got the armor by making a trade deal with a bunch of Jawas. What’s mysterious is how exactly the Jawas got hold of Boba Fett’s armor. More surprises regarding Boba Fett were still to be revealed.

The episode concludes with actor Temuera Morrison, who portrayed the character of Jango Fett in Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones, watching Mando as he goes back to his ship with the Boba Fett armor. Clearly, most of us are well aware that Boba Fett was nothing but a clone of Jango and considering the timeline in which the Mandalorian is occurring, the only plausible conclusion that can be drawn is that the man looking down on Mando is none other than Boba Fett (since Jango was slaughtered by Mace Windu).

Connecting The Dots For The Mandalorian

Boba Fett’s cameo in the show was previously rumored back in May with Temuera Morrison portraying the character. The show directly jumped on to his appearance without any wasting a single moment to introduce him. The only question that remains to be answered is what he was doing on Tatooine for such a long time and how exactly did he lost his armor.

For those who don’t recall or are completely unaware, Boba Fett made his last appearance in Return of the Jedi. At that time, he was accidentally thrown over Jabba the Hutt’s barge by Han Solo (played by Harrison Ford). He was seen caving into a Sarlacc pit. What’s surprising is that all of it occurred on Tatooine itself and it clearly indicates that Boba Fett had been hiding on Tatooine all the while since then.

We are hopeful that this isn’t the only time that we get to see Boba Fett on The Mandalorian. Getiing Baby Yoda back to his home is Mando’s primary goal right now. For that he is gathering all the other Mandalorians to assist him. It would be really great to see him starting his journey with one of the most iconic Mandalorians for fans as well.
