 After the death of Queen Elizabeth II, her Netflix biographical drama The Crown, which chronicles her life and reign, is set to stop filming in her tribute to the British monarch. The Queen died  Thursday afternoon at her Scottish castle. Produced by Peter Morgan,  the show follows Elizabeth’s life  from 1947 to the turn of the century. Four seasons have aired, a fifth season aired her November, and another one of hers is in the process of filming.

 However, Morgan  said he would stop filming after the Queen’s death, but  did not specify  how long until then. In an emailed statement to Deadline, the author said: Claire Foy and Olivia Colman have played Queen Elizabeth in The Crown for the past four seasons, and Imelda Staunton has played the past two seasons.

The show  received critical acclaim and multiple awards. In 2016, as the premiere approached, director Stephen Daldry  told Deadline that the show had plans to deal with the monarch’s death. is correct. It’s a simple tribute and a sign of respect.
