Sony is releasing new boxsets of Tobey McGuire and Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man movies before the release of No Way Home. The superhuman’s present live-action iteration is played by Tom Holland and was introduced in 2016’s Captain America: Civil War, officially integrating the person into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Spider-Man: No Way Home will be the third of Holland’s solo-outings with director Jon Watts and is set to release wide on December 17.

In a move that will surely fuel that theory, Digital Spy reports that Sony is releasing pristine boxsets of both Maguire’s trilogy (2002-07) and Garfield’s duology (2012-14). The films have been remastered in 4K, with the bundles including both UHD and standard Blu-beam plates. However now available for pre-request, the new Spider-Man boxsets officially release on November 8, only one month before No Way Home hits theaters.

This upcoming Spider-Man is one of the most expected Marvel films in ongoing memory, with the No Way Home trailer breaking Endgame’s record to turn into the most-watched trailer of all time. Still, the studio has been slow and controlled with their person reveals. In addition to Doc Ock and Electro, film of a pumpkin bomb proposes the Green Goblin will show up, however there’s no word yet if it will be Willem Dafoe’s, Dane Dehaan’s, or a new version entirely. The end-credits scene of Venom: Let There Be Carnage also showed Tom Hardy’s symbiote-have crossing over from Sony’s universe into Disney’s, and keeping in mind that it’s reasonable to accept Venom joins the No Way Home brawl, it remains mysteriously unconfirmed.

While energetic fans will need to destroy the news of new boxsets as proof that Maguire and Garfield are making their MCU debuts this December, there are other reasons for Sony to time their release with No Way Home. Multiple Spider-Men or no, Watts’ film does still include characters from the past establishments, and the organization is keen to attempt to capitalize on the renewed interest in them as a result of the upcoming hybrid. Those considering making a purchase will mull the higher resolution, however for fans in general, brushing up on Spidey’s film appearances appears to be a savvy way to plan for No Way Home.
