Zack Snyder has shared a new image of him wearing Ben Affleck’s Batman cowl. After the massive success of the MCU, Snyder was tasked with creating a cinematic universe of DC characters, starting with Henry Cavill’s Man of Steel in 2013. The director then, at that point proceeded to coordinate Batman v Zack vs Superman: Dawn of Justice and Justice League, before Joss Whedon took over the latter. Snyder’s first two DC films were controversial for various reasons, however Zack Snyder’s Justice League, released earlier this year, has been praised by fans and critics alike.

To celebrate Batman Day, Snyder took to his Vero account to post an image of himself wearing the Batman cowl. A screenshot of Snyder’s original post can be seen beneath:

The story of how the Snyder Cut came to be is notable at this point. After the movie’s release, there has been a massive outcry to Restore the Snyder-Verse, however Warner Bros. has shown no interest in continuing Snyder’s vision. The epilog in the Snyder Cut gave a tease at what the following movie in the set of three would have resembled, focusing on the Knightmare timeline where Darkseid takes control of Superman. Batman would have played a major job in the Justice League sequels and would have eventually been killed off to save Lois Lane from Darkseid. This, unfortunately, probable will not at any point get made, with Warner Bros. considering the Snyder Cut a dead end and Snyder at present not interested in making comic book movies.

Dissimilar to Snyder, Affleck isn’t exactly finished with the DCEU. His reshoots for the Snyder Cut were accepted to be Affleck’s final time playing the character; notwithstanding, it was announced in August that he would appear as Batman alongside Michael Keaton in The Flash. It’s unknown how large of a job he will have in the movie, however given the actor’s past comments, it will probably be the finish of his DCEU career. Affleck is most known for playing Batman at this point, and similarly, DC will always be a part of Snyder’s legacy. Regardless of whether he will not will finish his Justice League set of three, it’s clear Snyder still enjoys engaging with fans and posting DC content. And as the above image makes clear, being the director of a DC movie has its perks.
