K-pop girl group (G)I-DLE has momentarily suspended pending activities for members Minnie and Yuqi, pointing to health concerns just two days before the release of the group’s second full-length album, “2 (Two).”
Despite the unchanged scheduled release date for the new album, the group’s future engagements remain uncertain.
On Saturday, Cube Entertainment, the group’s agency, conveyed through an official press release that Minnie and Yuqi sought medical attention on Friday due to sudden symptoms of fever and headaches.
“Based on medical advice, the decision was made to temporarily pause the group’s activities, enabling the members to focus on ample rest and treatment,” the agency expressed.

Subsequently, the agency announced the termination of all forthcoming events, including the previously planned press event on Monday, the release date of the new album.
This health-related declaration is not the first for (G)I-DLE, with parallel incidents occurring on multiple occasions in recent months.
Notably, Minnie withdrew from the stage during the group’s performances in the United States in December last year due to health issues, resulting in a temporary cessation of her activities for several subsequent weeks. Member Shuhua also sought medical attention with fever and was subsequently diagnosed with Type A influenza.
The recurring reports of health issues have ignited concerns about whether the agency is effectively managing the group’s demanding schedules.
Last year, (G)I-DLE embarked on a global tour from June to October, encompassing various cities in Asia, the U.S., and Europe. In December 2023, they participated in the “Jingle Ball Tour” across seven cities, including Los Angeles, Chicago, Detroit, New York, Boston, Washington, D.C, and Philadelphia, before appearing in local year-end performances.
