Is BTS' Jin Leaving The Band For Military Service?

BTS’s popularity is massive, people regardless of country and culture love Jungkook, RM, Suga, Jimin, J-Hope, V and Jin very much. However, currently the BTS ARMY is worried that they may have to say goodbye to Jin because he will join the mandatory Korean military service. In Korea it is compulsory for men between the ages of 18 and 28 to serve in the military of their nation for at least twenty months.

The members of BTS have delayed their mandatory military service because of an amendment which says that artists can defer their military service till they are 30 years old. Since, Jin will turn thirty on December of this year, therefore he will have to join the Korean military as per rule. In a press conference which took place before the K-pop band’s performance in Las Vegs, upon being asked about this matter Jin replied, “I talked a lot with the company and entrusted all military service-related tasks with the company. The BTS members have currently left the matter of their military service in the hands of the agency.”

He continued, “BTS has already conveyed the message multiple times that they will accept the call of duty when the nation calls them, and they have not changed that opinion. However, the policy on military service has changed a little, and as the member are experiencing changes to the Military Service Act that they did not expect, they are currently monitoring the situation while discussing the matter with the company. The agency told BTS that after the new amendment to the Military Service Act was proposed, we were wary of making a decision in regards to their military service, and the BTS members maturely accepted this and left the matter in the hands of the company.”

While this development has generated speculations and concerns among the ARMY, many are wondering that if Jin leaves BTS will the boy band continue performing without him or whether someone else will take Jin’s place until his military service is over.
