Story
The poignant drama and romance “It Ends with Us” explores the intricacies of relationships, trauma, and personal development. The narrative revolves around Lily (Blake Lively), a young woman with deep emotional scars from her parents’ toxic and abusive relationship, who happens to have a chance romance with a charming neurosurgeon named Justin Baldoni. However, things start to go wrong when she finds out that he and her parents share unsettling similarities. The movie is based on Colleen Hoover’s #1 best-selling book of the same name from 2016.
Plot
In an effort to move past her painful past and create a life full of love and happiness, Lily Bloom (Blake Lively) has always worked hard. Opening her ideal flower shop, she relocates to a new city to start over. Her life changes when she meets successful neurosurgeon Ryle Kincaid (Justin Baldoni), who appears to be everything she could possibly want in a partner.
Lily begins to see a darker side of Ryle as their relationship develops, one that uncannily resembles the abusive actions of her father against her mother. Lily is forced to face her deepest fears and the lasting effects of her childhood trauma as a result of being torn between her love for Ryle and her fear of the past happening again.
The return of Lily’s first love and protector during her darkest moments, Brandon Sklenar’s Atlas Corrigan, complicates things. Atlas’s return makes Lily reflect on her decisions and brings back memories of a more carefree and joyful period of time.
As Lily struggles to end the cycle of abuse and musters the courage to forge her own path in search of a life filled with true love and respect, “It Ends with Us” depicts her journey of heartbreak, self-discovery, and resilience.
