Story
A late-1990s rock band is put to the ultimate test in Art of a Hit, both in terms of their musical ability and interpersonal relationships. They go to a French chateau to record their next big album with a mysterious and reclusive super-producer when their careers are about to collapse. A string of dramatic and unexpected events ensues as internal conflicts and old grievances resurface as they struggle with the pressure to produce a hit. The band members quickly come to understand that the dark secrets and psychological strains they encounter during their stay pose a greater threat to them than even the high stakes of their career.
Plot Summary
In “Art of a Hit,” a rock group from the late 1990s finds their career about to implode. They set out to record their next major album with an elusive and mysterious super-producer at a gorgeous chateau in France. As the band members strive to live up to the high standards set for them, personal issues and old grudges surface. They have to face not only their inner demons but also a string of eerie and enigmatic events as the peaceful scene rapidly devolves into a pressure cooker of antagonism and tension. The band’s struggle to remain together and produce their best work suggests that their true problem might be far more sinister than they first realized.
