Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell have been in a committed relationship for over four decades, but they have chosen not to marry. While their decision not to marry is personal and specific to their circumstances, they have openly shared their reasons in various interviews over the years.

One reason often mentioned by the couple is their belief that they don’t need a marriage certificate to validate their love and commitment to each other. They have expressed that their relationship is strong and fulfilling without the legal institution of marriage.

Additionally, Hawn and Russell have emphasized the importance of independence and personal growth within their relationship. They value their individual identities and have maintained separate homes, which they believe has contributed to the longevity of their partnership.

It’s essential to respect their personal choices, as every relationship is unique. Hawn and Russell have demonstrated that a committed partnership can thrive without a formal marriage ceremony, and their enduring relationship serves as an inspiration to many.

In a recent interview, Goldie Hawn discussed her reasons for not marrying her longtime companion Kurt Russell as well as her issues with marriage.

The 77-year-old said, “Why should we get married?” when asked by CNN why she never decided to wed her companion of more than 40 years.

Russell, 72, and Hawn, both divorced from their first spouses, she said, and she realised that when a relationship doesn’t work out, “it’s always ugly.”

“Someone needs to look at the situation and ask, ‘How many divorces are fun? How many divorces are genuinely free of expense? How many divorces have made you detest the individual even more? How many divorces resulted in child abuse? she questioned.

The freedom from being tied down to a marriage, according to Hawn, allows her to actively choose each morning whether or not she wants to remain in the union.
The key to a long-lasting love, according to Hawn in 2020, is to genuinely desire to be with one other. I don’t believe there is an alternative to doing it.

“It’s not about the marriage,” she emphasised. “It’s about the people, the connection, and the desire to remain as a unit. That’s a significant one since you can have it if you so choose. You have to make sacrifices, but the happiness and thrill of being with someone and caressing their toes at night is truly a good experience.
