CRISPR QC’s gene editing technology has the potential to impact everyday people in multiple ways, from treating genetic diseases to producing climate-resilient crops. The company’s groundbreaking CRISPR Analytics Platform provides scientists with unparalleled data around precision, efficacy, safety and efficiency for CRISPR editing. The CRISPR QC technology provides predictive insights and quality control metrics that enable breakthrough advancements in areas from therapeutic medicine to forensic analysis. With CRISPR QC, the sky is truly the limit.

Facilitating this journey is Susan Pede, the new Vice President of Operations. As a leader with over 25 years of experience in software development, management and MedTech, Susan’s wealth of expertise will propel CRISPR QC’s mission upward and onward.

Susan’s journey into the medical devices sector began with a solid foundation in computer science. From managing software development for radiologists to pioneering medical applications for the iOS platform, Susan’s career demonstrates her adaptability and passion for innovation and impact.

She explains, “Before joining CRISPR QC, I worked at ICU Medical, where my role involved overseeing business operations for global services,” She shares, “Data is one of the things that I love, and that drives me. Data can be so meaningful, and it can also be overwhelming. It’s very powerful to determine how to use Data, making it meaningful and actionable.”

Susan notes, “I’m three weeks into my role at CRISPR QC, and it’s been very exciting. Right before I joined the FDA approved the first therapy for sickle cell based on CRISPR technology. And I love the mission–how do we shorten the time to market for companies that are editing genes? How do we make research faster, quicker, and more impactful for people?”

“As VP of Operations, there’s a lot of blocking, tackling and keeping the lights on. That is all part of it. But what I really love is the whole idea of making a systematic process that will support our customers.”

Excitement permeates Susan’s outlook as she navigates the dynamic landscape of CRISPR technology. An entrepreneur herself, Pede co-founded a company and has previously worked at start-ups so she knows what it takes to develop a company. “I enjoy tackling the challenges that come with building a company, and I look forward to making a meaningful impact in the field.” She adds, “I just love the new venture space. I love the company culture and being able to create our own destiny.”

The sky is truly the limit to how CRISPR QC can impact people’s lives. With leaders like Susan, with her extensive background in operations and healthcare, strategic foresight, and passion for innovation, CRISPR QC is headed ‘up, up and away’ towards growth and success in genetic technologies.
