Miley Cyrus recently took a stroll down memory lane, reminiscing about the 2010 film “The Last Song” in her TikTok series, “Used to Be Young.” The singer shared heartfelt insights into the movie and why it held a special place in her heart, particularly for its role in her relationship with ex-husband Liam Hemsworth.

In the TikTok episode, Cyrus explained how the opportunity to work on “The Last Song” came about. “In 2008, I needed to do another feature film for Disney, and I didn’t want it to be a part of Hannah Montana,” she revealed. The decision led her to embark on a journey that ultimately became one of the most pivotal moments in her life.

The film, based on Nicholas Sparks‘ novel, follows the story of rebellious teenager Ronnie, portrayed by Cyrus, who spends the summer with her father, Steve (played by Greg Kinnear), in a small beach town. It’s during this transformative summer that she meets Will, played by Liam Hemsworth, and begins to fall in love. Their on-screen chemistry was undeniable, and little did they know it was the beginning of a profound, real-life connection.

Cyrus eloquently described the enchantment of their on-screen romance. “I think one of the elements that made that movie feel so special was watching two very young people fall in love with each other, which was happening in real time and in real life, so the chemistry was undeniable,” she mused. “And that was the beginning of a long, 10-year relationship.”

Their love story culminated in marriage in 2018, but unfortunately, the fairytale didn’t have a happily-ever-after ending. The couple separated less than a year later, but the memories of their time together on and off-screen continue to hold a special place in Cyrus’s heart.

In her TikTok series, Cyrus also reflected on the Malibu house she once shared with Hemsworth, a home that held countless memories for the couple. Tragically, the house was lost to wildfires in 2018.

“That house had so much magic to it,” Cyrus shared. “It ended up really changing my life.”

Miley Cyrus’s trip down memory lane serves as a poignant reminder of the enduring impact that love, both on and off-screen, can have on one’s life.
