Kevin McHale and Jenna Ushkowitz, former castmates of Naya Rivera on “Glee,” are paying tribute to their late friend in a special way this holiday season. In an exclusive interview with E! News, they shared details about their project to honor Rivera’s memory.

For the past three years, McHale and Ushkowitz have participated in Snixxmas, an annual event that raises money for Alexandria House, a charity supported by Rivera during her life. This year, they’re adding an extra special element to the fundraiser by releasing a song that Rivera had recorded but never released.

The song, titled “Prayer for the Broken,” was recorded by Rivera in 2012, and the duo has received permission to release it to the public. According to McHale and Ushkowitz, it’s a poignant way to allow fans to hear Rivera’s voice once again and to honor her memory.

In addition to their work with Snixxmas, many of Rivera’s former “Glee” castmates have paid tribute to her on social media, including Heather Morris, who shared a heartfelt message on the second anniversary of Rivera’s passing in July 2022.

Rivera tragically passed away in a drowning accident during a boating trip with her son in July 2020. Her ex-husband, Ryan Dorsey, has since spoken about their son Josey’s experience navigating life without his mother, describing it as a unique and challenging journey for the young boy.

Through their project and ongoing support, McHale and Ushkowitz are ensuring that Rivera’s legacy continues to be celebrated and remembered by fans around the world.
