Academy Award-winning actor Jamie Foxx has taken to social media to offer his “deepest apologies” after facing accusations of antisemitism due to a now-deleted Instagram post. The post in question raised concerns among some for its content, prompting Foxx to address the issue and clarify his intentions.

In his statement posted on Saturday, the 55-year-old actor acknowledged the offense his choice of words had caused and expressed his sincere regret. He wrote, “I want to apologize to the Jewish community and everyone who was offended by my post. I now know my choice of words have caused offense and I’m sorry. That was never my intent.”

Foxx further aimed to explain the context behind his original post, stating, “To clarify, I was betrayed by a fake friend and that’s what I meant with ‘they’ not anything more.” He emphasized his love and support for all individuals, including the Jewish community, asserting, “I only have love in my heart for everyone. I love and support the Jewish community.”

The actor concluded his message with a heartfelt note of apology, saying, “My deepest apologies to anyone who was offended ❤️❤️❤️. Nothing but love always, Jamie Foxx.”

In the post that had been deleted, Foxx had shared a thought-provoking statement over a black background: “They killed this dude named Jesus… what do you think they’ll do to you?” The post was accompanied by the hashtags “#FakeFriends” and “#FakeLove.”

Foxx’s post caught the attention of social media users, including outlets that specialize in reporting on news related to the Jewish community. Jennifer Aniston, who had seemingly “liked” Foxx’s post in a screenshot shared by A Wider Frame, addressed the situation on her own Instagram Story after facing scrutiny for her interaction with the post.

Expressing her dismay, Aniston wrote, “This really makes me sick.” She emphasized that her interaction with the post was not intentional, stating, “I did not ‘like’ this post on purpose or by accident.”

Aniston, a well-known figure in Hollywood, also made it clear where she stands on the matter. She declared, “And more importantly, I want to be clear to my friends and anyone hurt by this showing up in their feeds — I do NOT support any form of antisemitism.” The “Friends” alum concluded her message with a strong stance against hatred, saying, “And I truly don’t tolerate HATE of any kind. Period.”

As the incident unfolds, Foxx’s public apology serves as a reminder of the importance of responsible communication on social media platforms and the need to address issues promptly when they arise. The actor’s statement and Aniston’s response underscore the commitment to fostering a more inclusive and respectful online environment.
