Kaya Scodelario, known for her role in the series ‘Skins’, and Benjamin Walker, recognized for his performance in ‘Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power’, have decided to end their marriage after nearly eight years together. The couple, who separated in 2023, made a joint decision to part ways but continue to co-parent their two children lovingly.
In a statement to PEOPLE on Thursday, February 8, a representative for Kaya and Benjamin stated, “Some time ago, Kaya and Ben made the joint decision to end their marriage but continue to co-parent lovingly whilst remaining the best of friends. They ask that their privacy as well as that of their children remain respected as they continue to move forward as a family.”
Kaya and Benjamin share a 7-year-old son and a 2-year-old child. Despite keeping their family life private, occasional glimpses were shared on social media, with Kaya posting photos of the couple on Instagram. Their last shared image dates back to late 2022.
The couple met in 2014 on the set of ‘The King’s Daughter’, where they developed a strong friendship that blossomed into love. After getting engaged at the end of 2014, they tied the knot the following year. Kaya shared a photo from their wedding on Instagram, featuring a bride and groom cake topper.
In a 2019 interview with Elle UK, Kaya reminisced about the early days of their relationship and provided details about Benjamin’s proposal, shedding light on their journey together.
