The character of Melissa Montgomery, Nick’s sister who could turn out to be Jack’s adversary in the upcoming season, will also be played by Barbara Pollard. In regards to Melissa, Breckenridge told TVLine, “I’m not sure what her aim is yet. Clearly, she doesn’t have the best of intentions.
“Virgin River” is at its most theatrical, soapy, and romantic. Every summer for the previous four years, viewers have enjoyed watching the exploits of midwife Mel Monroe (Alexandra Breckenridge) and her on-again, off-again lover, Jack Sheridan (Martin Henderson). It has a devoted audience whose commitment to the programme has helped “Virgin River” become a huge sensation. According to Variety, the programme is powerful enough to dethrone “Stranger Things” as the number one streaming show. That now qualifies as being well-liked.
Fortunately for “Virgin River” fans, Netflix picked up the series for a fifth season when it approved its fourth season in 2021. There will be at least one more block of episodes before the cancellation bear has another opportunity to snap at its heels, thus that implies.
