Sadie Sink, a rising performer, will join Berlin Nobody’s cast. The thriller with a German setting also stars Eric Bana from Stranger Things. The planned film is a remake of Nicholas Hogg’s 2015 novel Tokyo, albeit Berlin has been substituted for Tokyo as the location for the action. According to Deadline, Sink has been cast in the upcoming movie under Jordan Scott’s direction. She will play Mazzy, the daughter of social scientist Ben Monroe (Bana), who relocates to Berlin to research cults.

Mazzy befriends a mystery local lad, played by Jonas Dassler, as her father becomes more and more preoccupied with his studies. Also featured are Sylvia Hoeks and Sophie Rois. When the movie was first announced in January, Kiernan Shipka was first cast as Mazzy; however, Shipka recently left the production, leaving the role open for Sink. Sink has had a productive 2022; this summer’s fourth season of Stranger Things featured her character Max in one of the show’s most prominent roles yet, and she is currently winning praise for her portrayal of Brendan Fraser’s daughter in Darren Aronofsky’s The Whale, which had its Venice Film Festival premiere last week. Her next appearance will be in the upcoming drama Dear Zoe.

The 2011 psychological thriller Cracks, directed by British filmmaker Scott, starred Eva Green and Juno Temple. This is her second film. She has directed well-known advertising campaigns for Prada, Land Rover, and Nike and is also a photographer. The leading man in the ecological drama Blueback, which had its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival this month, will be Australian actor Bana, who is well known for his work in the blockbusters Hulk, Troy, and Munich. While Dutch actor Hoeks is best known to American audiences for Blade Runner 2049, The Girl in the Spider’s Web, and the Apple+ series See, German stage actor Dassler made his film debut in 2019’s The Golden Glove as 1970s Hamburg serial killer Fritz Honka. Rois from Austria appears in Enemy at the Gates and the Netflix series Barbarians.

Berlin For their production business Scott Free Productions, Michael Pruss and Scott’s father, the well-known filmmaker Ridley Scott, are producing Nobody; Jonas Katzenstein and Maximilian Leo will produce for Augenschein Filmproduktion. Additionally, Jonathan Saubach of Augenschein will executive produce alongside Georgina Pope. The film’s foreign distribution is being handled by Augenschein and Protagonist Pictures, who previously worked together on the German survival thriller The Dive.
