Troll, the big new fantasy film from Norwegian director Roar Uthaug, is set to be released on Netflix worldwide in December 2022. Here’s everything we know about Troll so far. Troll, according to director Roar Uthaug, has been brewing in the back of his mind for the past 20 years. Troll is Uthaug’s idea, with the script written by Espen Aukan, who has worked on projects such as Vikingulven, The Games, and Wettlaufer’s Widow.
Here’s what Uthaug had to say about making the film for Netflix:

“Troll has been brewing in the back of my mind for more than 20 years.” It’s a dream come true to finally be able to realise it with the enthusiastic and ambitious people at Netflix and Motion Blur. “I can’t wait to unleash this Norwegian monstrosity on the rest of the world.”

What is Troll’s plot?

Variety has obtained the official logline for Netflix’s Troll:
After being trapped for a thousand years deep inside the mountain of Dovre, Norway, something massive awakens. The creature is destroying everything in its path as it approaches Norway’s capital, with city dwellers struggling to stop something they thought only existed in Norwegian folklore.
And here’s another one from the Netflix website:
When an ancient troll awakens in a Norwegian mountain, a motley crew of heroes must band together to prevent it from wreaking havoc.
