Laura San Giacomo, star of Pretty Woman, has been given a prominent role in The Santa Clauses. Also starring Elizabeth Mitchell as Mrs. Claus, Kal Penn, Matilda Lawler, Austin Kane, Elizabeth Allen-Dick, and Devin Bright. For the time being, fans of The Santa Clause franchise may anticipate seeing Santa and Bernard return to their usual routines during the Christmas season. The Santa Clauses is now anticipated to launch on Disney+ later this year.

Giacomo joins The Santa Clauses as La Befana, the Christmas Witch, according to Deadline. La Befana, a character from Italian tradition, is reputed to live in the North Pole’s Wobbly Woods and provide gifts to good-behaved kids on the morning of the Epiphany. The most recent new cast member to join the show that will follow Scott (Allen) as he looks for a suitable candidate to take his place as Santa Claus is Giacomo as the Christmas Witch.

Tim Allen plays Scott Calvin in the 1994 film The Santa Clause, who is a regular businessman who is hired as Santa Claus following a mishap on Christmas Eve. The Santa Clause, a beloved holiday classic, was followed by The Santa Clause 2 and The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause. For The Santa Clauses, a spinoff to the original trilogy, Disney+ earlier this year revealed Allen would don his Kris Kringle garb once more. David Krumholtz’s recurrence as Bernard the Elf in The Santa Clauses was recently announced.

Just one year later, in 1994, another popular Allen character Buzz Lightyear debuted in a movie. The next Disney feature, which recasts Allen and introduces Chris Evans, centres on the hero who served as the inspiration for the toy. Despite Allen’s iconic performance as Buzz, here are some reasons why Scott Calvin, not Buzz, should be his return character in Lightyear.
