Christian Bale was hard at work at Netflix filming the Gothic horror-thriller The Pale Blue Eye after his time in the MCU. The Pale Blue Eye is Cooper and Bale’s third collaboration after their work on the last two movies. According to Deadline, Cooper has been trying to have this movie made for more than ten years. At West Point Academy in 1830, the discovery of a young cadet’s body swinging from a rope just off the parade grounds disturbs the peace of an October evening. In a strict regimen like West Point’s, an apparent suicide is not unheard of, but the following morning, a greater horror is revealed. The heart was taken from the deceased when someone broke into the room where it was lying.
The Academy seeks the assistance of a local civilian, Augustus Landor, a former police investigator who gained some notoriety during his time in New York City before retiring to the Hudson Highlands for his health. The Academy is at a loss for explanations and desperate to avoid any bad press. Landor, who is a widower now and dissatisfied with his isolation, agrees to take on the case. He finds a willing assistant in a moody, interesting young cadet with a tendency for drink, two volumes of poetry to his credit, and a cloudy past that shifts from telling to telling as he interviews the deceased man’s acquaintances. Oscar-winner The Pale Blue Eye on Netflix will star Christian Bale, who is renowned for his numerous iconic and nominated roles. The Pale Blue Eye’s official release date has not yet been disclosed by Netflix. Although an early 2023 release is more likely, since the movie has spent the previous few months in post-production, there is a chance we will see it on Netflix before the end of 2022.
