The coming-of-age drama “Dear Zoe,” starring Stranger Things actress Sadie Sink, has been purchased by Byron Allen’s Freestyle Digital Media and is scheduled to premiere on Nov. 4, 2022, in cinemas and on digital platforms. Gren Wells, the director, spent nearly three years filming the movie in Western Pennsylvania. It is based on the 2005 book of the same name by local author Philip Beard, which is about a Pittsburgh family attempting to move on after suffering an incomprehensible loss.

Dear Zoe follows the story of Tess DeNunzio (Sink), a high school student still processing her emotions after the passing of her younger sister, Zoe. Tess’ mother Elly (Jessica Capshaw), stepfather David (Justin Bartha), and younger sister Emily are all equally heartbroken by this tragedy (Vivien Lyra Blair). Tess gets some assistance from her biological father Nick (Theo Rossi) and potential love interest Jimmy as she embarks on a healing path (Kweku Collins).

Sink, who is still a part of the Stranger Things cast, has taken a new step with Dear Zoe. However, with Season 5 of the Netflix series coming to an end, it will be interesting to see where each of the young cast members takes their careers. We are aware of Sink’s skill, and because Dear Zoe seems to be the ideal role for her, we are eager to see what she will bring to the Tess character.

The feature film, produced by Brenda Lhormer and Marc Lhormer of Zin Haze Productions, is an adaptation of Gren Wells’ award-winning novel Dear Zoe by Philip Beard, with a screenplay by Marc Lhormer and Melissa Martin. The cast also includes Vivien Lyra Blair (Obi-Wan Kenobi), Jessica Capshaw (Grey’s Anatomy), Justin Bartha (The Hangover), and rapper, songwriter, and producer Kweku Collins.
