original

The Bear has been renewed for a second season according to an announcement made today by FX. The series was just renewed following widespread acclaim; it is currently regarded as one of 2022’s must-watch shows and will undoubtedly appear on best-of-the-year lists in the near future. The protagonist of the tale is a young chef who, following the suicide of his brother, relocates to Chicago to take over the family’s sandwich shop. Late in June, the first season debuted.

At the time of writing, The Bear has a perfect Rotten Tomatoes rating. FX Entertainment President Eric Schrier stated that Season 1 of the series was a win in every sense of the word and that he is beyond eager to begin production on the sophomore run as the show returns for Season 2.

He said, “The Bear has exceeded our wildest creative, critical and commercial expectations. We deeply appreciate the brilliant work led by creator and co-showrunner Christopher Storer and co-Showrunner Joanna Calo. Jeremy Allen White’s lead performance is spectacular, as are those of his co-stars Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Ayo Edebiri, Abby Elliott, Lionel Boyce and Liza Colón-Za”as. We can’t wait to get to work on season 2.”

Christopher Storer, who is creating his first TV series, is the creator of the show, as Schrier indicated. He co-showruns with The Babysitters Club and BoJack Horseman actress Joanna Calo, a three-time nominee for an Emmy. The showrunners’ partnership also issued a formal statement commending the success of their show, the benefits of the demanding production schedule, and a possible resumption of the show is as early as next year.

“We are so grateful to FX, our insanely talented cast, our crew who worked hard, fast, and in the dead of winter, not to mention everyone who watched. And we can’t wait to bring you all back to The Bear in 2023.”
