Hero and Sydney

This summer, romantic drama fans will have a new film to add to their watch list. First Love chronicles two high school students in their journey of first love and heartbreak, starring Hero Fiennes Tiffin (Jim) and Sydney Park (Ann). First Love sets Jim and Ann’s love story against Jim’s parents’ relationship as they suffer following a financial catastrophe, and has been described as a “poignant look at a young man’s tough introduction into adulthood.” Voltage Pictures is planning a summer release. The film was initially confirmed by deadline in May 2021. A.J. Edwards, known for The Better Angels and Age Out, wrote and directed the piece.

First Love Plot:

Jim and Ann, like many other high school seniors, are considering where to go college, finding out where they want their lives to take them, and putting themselves to the test by starting a new relationship before moving to different coasts. Jim is pursuing a running scholarship at the Institution of California, Los Angeles, while Ann has been admitted to a New York university. According to the teaser, he pursues her, forging a letter to pull her out of class, and appears to be the one who suffers the greatest pain during their alleged separation. He expresses his desire to call her to his father (Jeffrey Donovan), but the parental figure advises him to wait. Will time be on their side?

Jim’s parents appear to adore the two of them together, but Ann’s mother and father aren’t so sure. She doesn’t want Ann to get married so soon, which is natural, but it raises doubts in the mind of the graduating senior. Because none of them has ever been in a committed relationship, the other is their first love, maybe their first breakup, and their first everything.

This is the official trailer of FIRST LOVE!

The two teenagers aren’t the only ones attempting to figure out how to live in the future. Jim’s parents are described in the synopsis as “suffering with the familial consequences of the 2008 financial crisis,” which might explain why he is so focused on the running scholarship. It also specifies the time period in which the picture is set, which differs from most contemporary romantic films. Will his parents’ relationship be strained as a result of this crisis? Will his scholarship determine whether or not he is able to attend college? The linked stories, which depict the challenges of each age, may provide Jim and his parents with insight on the right course of action.
