Resident Evil, a Netflix drama series that will be available for streaming on July 14, has just unveiled its debut trailer, and some fans of the franchise are already furious.
The new Resident Evil teaser provides audiences a first look at present-day New Raccoon City, as well as a zombie-infested future version, and hints at how the protagonists Billie and Jade Wesker, as well as their father Albert, are involved in the infestation.

The new Netflix Original series Resident Evil is based on the Capcom game of the same name. Since its inception in 1996, the series has generated multiple video game sequels, novels, and a successful film franchise.
Netflix appears to be going all-in on Resident Evil with this live-action series as well as at least two animated productions, the first of which being Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness, which was released in July 2021 on Netflix.
Netflix did not provide any official information on the live-action series until August 27th, 2020. That’s when they made the first announcements using the defunct NXonNetflix account.

Before we get there, let’s take a step back and take a look at the official Netflix Resident Evil synopsis:
“Jade Wesker battles for survival in a world overrun by bloodthirsty infected and mind-shattering beasts 14 years after Joy caused so much grief.
Jade is plagued by her background in New Raccoon City, her father’s unsettling ties to the diabolical Umbrella Corporation, but most of all by what happened to her sister, Billie, in this absolute devastation.”

Constantin Film, which also produced the previous Resident Evil films starring Milla Jovovich, is producing the eight-episode Season one of Resident Evil.
It stars Ahad Raza Mir, Connor Gossatti, and Turlough Convery, as well as Lance Reddick as Albert Wesker, Adeline Rudolph, Ella Balinska, Tamara Smart, Siena Agudong, and Paola Nue.
