Finally, the long wait is over. Borgen Season 4 is going to make its way into the hearts of viewers after a ten-year wait. The first season of Borgen premiered in Denmark in 2020. Season 3 of the series was released in 2013, bringing the series to a close. Borgen had garnered a sizable international following over its run. Both the audience and the critics have praised it. The series was a tremendous hit in the United Kingdom and Denmark, in particular.
Netflix spotted an opportunity and teamed with DR (producer) to take up the series in 2020, releasing Borgen Season 4 in the process. Borgen tells the narrative of Birgitte Nyborg, a politician who becomes Denmark’s first female prime minister unexpectedly. Many people believe that the primary character, Birgitte Nyborg, is modelled on Helle Thorning-Schmidt, Denmark’s first female prime minister. Helle was not elected Prime Minister until the second season of the show. “I definitely want you to believe there is a shred of idealism in Birgitte Nyborg that is true,” series creator Adam Price once said. She’s also evolved into a very professional political figure, but her idealism remains, and that’s vital.”
In January of this year, Borgen Season 4 was officially renewed and announced for a 2022 release date.Borgen Season 4 will premiere on Netflix on April 14, 2022, in the Nordic countries of Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland, and Iceland.
A teaser for the new season has been posted by DR. We get a taste of Nyborg’s challenges as the first female leader from the teaser.
