Daniel Craig last appeared in an installment of James Bond franchise called “No Time To Die”. However, in 2015, Daniel Craig joked that he will “slash his wrists” rather than do another James Bond movie, resulting in rumours and speculations about actors who will succeed the 54 year old English actor as the next James Bond. During an interview with the GQ magazine, he confirmed to the outlet that No Time To Die will be his last Bond movie and debunked the anticipations regarding him ever reprising the role in future. He told, “I don’t think I would have been if I’d done the last film and that had been it. But this, I’m like, ‘Let’s go. Let’s get on with it. I’m fine.”

Several prominent celebrities are potential candidates for the role of next James Bond. Henry Cavill auditioned for the role when he was in his twenties, the 37 year old “Man Of Steel” actor said to GQ, “If Barbara (James Bond producer) and Mike (co-producer) were interested in that, I would absolutely jump at the opportunity. At this stage, it’s all up in the air. We’ll see what happens. But yes, I would love to play Bond, it would be very, very exciting.”

Actor Jamie Dornan talked about his chances of landing the role, “The Tourist” star opened up to Esquire during an interview, “Its fun and it’s a cool thing to be in the mix for that sort of thing. I do think it’s very transparent in terms of if you look at that list, there’s not one person on that list who doesn’t have some content at the moment that’s doing well.” Similarly, Richard Madden is also being considered as a top candidate for James Bond as the Game of Throne’s Robb Stark has gained the attention of Bond producer Barbara Broccoli, he shared with GQ, “I’m more than flattered to be mentioned, for people to consider putting me in that role. I’m very flattered and thankful. It’s a really beautiful thing to be in.”

Tom Hardy earlier responded to him being looked at as Bond character, said to The Daily Beast, “If I mention it, it’s gone. You know, there’s a saying amongst us in the fraternity of acting, and in the fellowship of my peer group, that if you talk about it you’re automatically out of the race. So I can’t possibly comment on that one.” Cillian Murphy is also in the race, the “Peaky Blinders” and “Batman Begins” star expressed he is “flattered” by the possibility that he can be cast as the next James Bond, adding, “It’s incredibly flattering to be in that conversation. I think it should be a woman.”
