Season 2 of ‘Ginny and Georgia’ Returns to Netflix’s Top 10

Ginny

Ginny and Georgia has re-entered the Netflix Top 10 after a brief hiatus. Why is the show back in the Netflix top 10s after more than a year? We haven’t heard anything about a second season in over a year, and it isn’t expected to drop for another few months. We try to figure out what’s going on.
You might be wondering why this is news. Isn’t it true that things in the Netflix top 10 come and go all the time? You’re correct, but the top ten lists are frequently dominated by new or recently released Netflix titles. CoComelon and Yo soy Betty la fea, for example, consistently rank in the top ten week after week.

Ginny & Georgia, on the other hand, dropped out of the Netflix top 10s a month or two after season 1 premiered in late February 2021.
According to FlixPatrol, the show has been climbing the charts in the Nordics, Southeast Europe, the United Kingdom and Ireland, and even Australia.
So what’s the deal with Ginny and Georgia being back in the top ten? There were no major breaking news stories or new controversies that we could find. What was discovered, however, were a few viral videos that were posted on TikTok just a few days ago.
Two video clips have been viewed 3.8 million times on TikTok, and that doesn’t include any shares made in private messaging apps because TikTok allows users to download videos.

You can see a huge list of new videos about the show in recent days if you scroll down the Discover Ginny and Georgia page. Hundreds of thousands of views and likes on each.
That alone is likely to have resulted in people rewatching or starting the show for the first time, giving it a new lease on life.
The ability of a show like Ginny and Georgia to regain steam on Netflix thanks to viral clips demonstrates why Netflix should provide a native ability for users to clip and screenshot their own shows. Of course, the legality of doing so is most likely why we are unable to do so at this time.

When will Season 2 of Ginny and Georgia be on Netflix?

A second season is in the works, with a release date set for later in 2022 on Netflix. As of April 2022, filming is still going on, and despite initial reports that it would wrap on April 8th, we’re still seeing pictures from the set from various crew members.
Aaron Ashmore has joined the cast of Season 2 of the show, which is big news.
