Ginny and Georgia season 2 is now in post-production at Netflix after wrapping filming. Here’s everything we know so far about Ginny and Georgia’s second season, including who’s returning, what to expect from the tale (including exclusive details on a new character), and when season 2 of Ginny and Georgia will be available on Netflix.
The first season of Ginny and Georgia, created by Sarah Lampert, premiered on Netflix on February 24th, 2021, with ten episodes.
Following the loss of Georgia’s husband, the series follows Ginny and Georgia as they leave Texas to start over in a smaller town. Without giving too much away in terms of potential spoilers, the show tackled some weighty issues such as crime, race, and self-harm, as well as more standard fare such as marriage, friendships, and family problems.

On Netflix, how did Ginny and Georgia perform exceptionally?
Ginny and Georgia performed on Netflix, and probably the most surprising aspect is that the show received a significant bump in popularity shortly after its broadcast thanks to a well-known pop star.
We’re talking about Taylor Swift, who made an appearance on the programme in a joke about how many men one of the show’s characters had gone through, comparing it to the number of Swift’s exes over the years.
According to FlixPatrol top 10 data, the show lasted 48 days in the top 10 lists in the United States and 44 days in the top 10 lists in the United Kingdom. South Africa, much of Mainland Europe, and Australia were also big fans of the show.
The show is now ranked #6 in the top shows for 2021 as of September 2021. After tallying up the world’s top ten data, this is the conclusion.
The sitcom spent seven weeks in the Nielsen top ten in the United States, accumulating over 4,247 million viewing minutes during that time.
When will Ginny and Georgia Season 2 begin production?
Despite being renewed in April 2021, production has been slower than on similar projects in the genre, such as Virgin River.
Instead, we learned that a production date has been set for September 2021. We can confirm that the series is now aiming for a November 29th production start date and will run until April 8th, 2021. It has a somewhat similar release schedule to Firefly Lane season 2, so we’ll probably see the two releases close together again.
The official Instagram page for the show disclosed in mid-October that they were “gearing up to film season two.” Debra Fisher also hinted that production was nearing completion by posting a photo of herself with Brianne Howey on Instagram with the caption “S2 coming in hot.”
Debra Fisher, the showrunner for Ginny and Georgia, announced on Instagram on November 30th that cameras were rolling and season 2 was in the works.
The below clapper reveals that James Genn will helm the first episode. Danishka Esterhazy will make her directorial debut on the show, and Anya Adams will return at the helm. Audrey Cummings and James Genn are both directing this season.
Blue Ice Pictures, Critical Content, and Dynamic Television will all be engaged in the production, which will be shot in Toronto, Canada. Block 3 filming wrapped on March 4th, 2022. We know at least four filming blocks exist.
According to a public notification on the local region’s website, the series was filmed once more in Coburg, Ontario. Between February 22nd and February 25th, filming took place throughout town at venues such as:
- Victoria Park
- Victoria Hall
- King Steet West from Third Street to Hibernia Street
According to an Instagram post by Antonia Gentry, filming on Ginny and Georgia finished on April 23rd, 2022. Debra Fisher, showrunner, commented, “It’s been a wild season 2.” On May 9th, 2022, Netflix France revealed that season 2 had completed filming.
There has been no formal announcement of a release date or even a window. Given the production schedule described above, we believe Ginny and Georgia season 2 will arrive on Netflix in mid-to-late 2022.
