BTS and their fans were hoping for a Grammy nomination for the K-pop group this year. For their hit song Butter, BTS was nominated for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance. The song, however, was defeated by Doja Cat’s Kiss Me More, which featured SZA. While the members smiled and hugged despite the results at the venue, BTS leader RM admitted that the group was disappointed that they didn’t win this year as well during a post-Grammy 2022 Vlive. Last year, the group was nominated in the same category for Dynamite, but lost to Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande for their single Rain on Me.

After their performance at the Grammy Awards 2022, BTS members held a live session and interacted with fans on Monday. RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook took to V Live to express their disappointment after losing the best pop duo/group performance award to Doja Cat and SZA for their English single Butter. BTS received a standing ovation at the Grammys for their hit song Butter. “When they announced the best pop group/duo award, Yoongi hyung (brotherface )’s was so nervous.” Jungkook said during the live, as translated by Twitter user @seoulocello. According to RM, “There’s nothing we can do about it, after all (the results). It’s a fact that we’re not happy, to be honest. However, I believe it is important to be open and honest about our feelings. It’s all right if we’re sad today and feel better tomorrow. For today, we can let off steam on our own and feel better tomorrow.”

“We only practiced for one day as a whole group.” Jimin explained. “It was yesterday.” J-Hope added. “We practiced as a group yesterday and performed on stage today so I was really nervous.” Jimin continued. Suga stated, “I became extremely jittery. This was the most nerve-wracking of the recent concerts.”
