Pennywise the Clown is said to be prequel to ‘It’ is under development at the HBO Max. This prequel is going to be the centre of the documentary which is about the character’s history and inception. The story portrays demonic entity that reappears in every 27 years to feed of the fears of children using reality bending powers and whacking shape-shifting to terrify its victims. To adapt King’s original It novel as on screen story is proven to be quite difficult as the novel is over about 1100 pages with a bucket full of characters following two different time periods’ story. King’s took inspiration from the most obvious fear of children, Clowns.

‘It’ was originally created by Stephan King for the book of the same name. The story has been seen on screen twice, for a 1990 miniseries and in 2017 movie with a sequel in 2019, the roles were played by Bill Skarsgard and Tim Curry. The both films grossing combined was round about $1.1 billion along with critics’ positive reviews.Welcome to Derry, title of the series leading up the events of It: Chapter One, by Andy Muschietti’s 2017, is a set from 1960. Muschiettis and Fuchs developed the story, with Fuchs writing the script. Muschiettis will also direct the first episode should the project be picked up. Warner Bros, according to Variety. There is currently no news about the casting for the new series, and HBO and Warner Bros. have yet to announce.

The documentary will feature interviews with the people who have worked on the miniseries, describing the creation of Tim Curry’s character creation. Pennywise: The Story Of It is going to be John Campopiano and Christopher Griffiths’ direction, who previously have worked on the horror genre series.
