HBO’s new series “House of the Dragon” release date confirmed

Game of Thrones prequel House of the Dragon is set to release on August 21 confirmed HBO. The show is based on the fantasy book Fire and Blood written by George R.R. Martin and was first published in 2018. The show will tell the story of House Targereyan and the first season is expected to have 10 episodes. The events shown in House of the Dragon took place 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones. The show was announced in 2019 by HBO to create a buzz about its streaming platform HBO Max. Talking about the star cast of the show consists of Paddy Considine as Viserys Targaryen, a kind-hearted man chosen to succeed Jaehaerys Targaryen, and Matt Smith as Prince Daemon Targaryen. HBO confirming the release date shared a picture of what appears to be a Hatching Dragon Egg.

HBO also shared the first few images of the show although the images don’t show any Dragons who play one of the most important roles in the show we can see the main cast. The new image also shows Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen, a Dragon rider who must prove her worth just because she is a woman. Lord Corlys Velaryon played by Steve Toussaint is also there aka “Sea Snake” the most famous adventurer in western history. The cast also consists of Milly Alcock, Bethany Antonia, Phoebe Campbell, Emily Carey, Harry Collett, Ryan Corr, Tom Glynn-Carney, Jefferson Hall, David Horovitch, Wil Johnson, John Macmillan, Graham McTavish, Ewan Mitchell, Theo Nate, Matthew Needham, Bill Paterson, Phia Saban, Gavin Spokes, and Savannah Steyn. The show is directed by Greg Yaitanes who is also the co-executive producer.
