‘Bridgerton Season 2 Review’: Does a ‘love triangle’ will keep the season afloat?

Netflix’s regency romance; period drama Bridgerton has recently returned with its season 2 on March 25. Season1 of the show was released back in December 2020. Season 1 of the romantic period drama had attracted quite a lot of audiences. Season 1 focuses on the burning chemistry between the Duke of Hastings (Rege-Jean Page) and Daphne Bridgerton (Phoebe Dynevor), the eldest daughter of the Bridgerton family. Season 1 of the drama also revealed the town’s gossipmonger, Lady Whistledown who was actually Penelope Featherington.

Bridgerton’s season 2 focuses on the eldest son, Viscount Anthony (Jonathan Bailey) of the Bridgerton family, and his quest to find love. After dealing with heartbreak in the first season, Anthony is eager to find his suitable match and wants to get love out of the equation. Anthony has always been an obedient son and has always put his viscount duties above his love life. Meanwhile, a new family joins the Bridgerton clan this season, The Sharma family, Kate Sharma (Simone Ashley) being the eldest sister of the Sharma family is a protective, young lady. Edwina Sharma (Charithra Chandran) is the younger half-sister of Kate. At the beginning of the show, The Sharma family returns to England to stay with Lady Danbury while Edwina makes her social debut. Anthony immediately falls for the younger sister of the Sharma family, delightful Edwina. Before falling for Edwina, Anthony has a brief encounter with Lady Kate which really excites him but he is stoned on his resolution to not fall in love. Later in the first ball of the season, he meets Edwina and immediately thinks of her as a suitable match for him. The fans should expect a love triangle between Anthony, Edwina, and Kate. Daphne debuts on London’s marriage market, while Simon, the Duke of Hastings, returns to town, a new gossip surrounds the town. Fans are really loving the second season of the franchise.
