The Bridgerton Season 3 production team shares a behind-the-scenes video that gives us a first look at the returning cast members and the new romantic leads. In the behind-the-scenes video, Netflix announced that Bridgerton Season 3 is officially in production. The video opens up with a group of returning cast members giving the peace sign, then flipping it around to reveal 3. Newton who portrays Colin in the series then reveals Coughlan in a carriage. Both of the actors are the main romantic leads for this season. Check out the BTS video here:

The fourth Julia Quinn book, Romancing Mr. Bridgerton, published in 2002, will be skipped in favour of this season’s emphasis on the Colin and Penelope relationship. This implies that they are omitting Benedict Bridgerton’s love story (Luke Thompson). While there is no information on whether his love interest has been cast and that character has not yet debuted in the series, some have hypothesised that his love story would parallel theirs in season 3.

The eldest daughter Daphne Bridgerton (Phoebe Dynevor) and the dashing rake Simon Basset, Duke of Hastings (Regé-Jean Page) decide to pretend to be dating, and their relationship develops throughout the course of the first season. The focus shifted to the eldest son Anthony Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey) in the second season as he became embroiled in a passionate love triangle with his recently returned sisters Kate (Simone Ashley) and Edwina Sharma (Charithra Chandran).

The third season of Bridgerton, which is scheduled to air sometime in 2023, will centre on the complicated friendship between Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton) and Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan), who was later identified as the author behind the town gossipmongler Lady Whistledown. One of the most well-liked shows on Netflix, Bridgerton had its season 1 launch in December 2020.

The show is a drama set in the realm of the tonne, the top crust neighbourhood of Regency England society, and is based on the romance novel series of the same name by author Julia Quinn. As told by the gossipmongler Lady Whistledown, each season follows the structure of the original novels and focuses on a member of the Bridgerton family finding love.
