Actor From The Last of Us 2 Game Wants To Star In Season 2 Of The HBO Show

Emily Swallow, known for her portrayal of Emily in The Last of Us Part II video game, has expressed interest in taking on a larger role in the upcoming second season of the popular HBO adaptation.

Emily Swallow, who played a role in The Last of Us Part II video game, has expressed her desire to have a bigger part in season 2 of the popular HBO series. The show is an adaptation of the critically acclaimed PlayStation game from Naughty Dog, and it premiered earlier this year. The network has already given the green light for season 2, which will cover a portion of The Last of Us Part II, and the creators have indicated that a third season will be necessary to tell the full story of the second game.

During a recent Slash Film interview, Emily Swallow, known for her role as Emily, the secondary antagonist in The Last of Us Part II video game, expressed her desire to appear in season 2 of the HBO adaptation. Swallow stated that if given the chance, she would be interested in playing a different character, possibly with a more prominent role in the series.

Many game actors appeared in Season 1 of The Last of Us

Mazin and Druckmann’s strategy of casting game actors in different roles on the show may work in favor of Swallow’s intention to portray a different character than her video game counterpart. For instance, Troy Baker, who voices Joel in The Last of Us games, portrays a different character named James in the show, who is part of David’s (Scott Shepherd) group and has a gruesome fate. Additionally, Ashley Johnson, who voices Ellie in the game, appears briefly as Ellie’s mother in the series.

Continuing the trend of using The Last of Us game actors in the show, Jeffrey Pierce doesn’t reprise his role as Joel’s brother, Tommy, but instead portrays a character named Perry who is a secondary antagonist to Kathleen played by Melanie Lynskey. However, Merle Dandridge breaks this trend by returning to play the same character, Marlene, in the live-action show as she did in the game.

It is uncertain whether Swallow will be included in The Last of Us season 2, but the show has demonstrated an ability to incorporate game actors in fresh and interesting ways. There are still unknowns about how the show will tackle the second game, but it’s probable that additional appearances from game actors in new roles will occur. Although The Last of Us season 2 is scheduled to start filming later this year, it is expected that it will be a while before any official announcements are made regarding this matter.
