Life has its share of surprises, and one of the most fulfilling ones is discovering a talent you never knew you had. Such was the case for Pierre Balian, an Armenian-American music producer and songwriter with an inspiring story to tell.

Pierre’s journey began after retiring from competitive figure skating in 2010. He then decided to focus on talent management and music production, setting his sights on an A&R position at a major label. But after a decade of pursuing this goal, he realized it was time for a change.

Thanks to the connections he built with top producers, artists, and executives in the industry, Pierre was confident he could make a mark as a producer and songwriter. He even had the chance to learn from one of the best in the business, Justin Bieber, during a studio session.

When the pandemic hit and studios were shut down, Pierre decided to learn how to play the piano through YouTube tutorials. His dedication paid off, and he landed his first production placement with BMW Kenny, an artist whose song “Wipe It Down” had over 1 billion streams in its first year of release. Since then, Pierre has worked with big names in the industry such as Wiz Khalifa, Ludmilla, and Snow Tha Product, to name a few.

Despite his success, Pierre faced a setback when his verified Instagram account with over 100k followers was deleted by a team of paid representatives at Meta (formerly known as Facebook) in September 2022. But this didn’t stop him from pursuing his passion. Pierre is currently based in Medellin, Colombia, where he is working on his own project with various Colombian artists set to be released later this year.

Pierre’s story serves as a testament to the power of determination and hard work. Despite not knowing his true calling after retiring from figure skating, he found success in music production and songwriting, thanks to his willingness to learn and his ability to build strong relationships with industry professionals.
