The critically acclaimed biographical drama She Said, starring Megan Twohey and Jodi Kantor, will be made available to stream on Peacock early in 2023. It is the story of two journalists whose investigations led to Harvey Weinstein’s conviction and the iconic Me Too Movement. The movie will be exclusively available for streaming on the streamer’s platform beginning of January 6th, according to the announcement.

She Said had its international premiere a few months ago at the 60th New York Film Festival, and it has since screened at the TCL Chinese Theatre and the BFI London Film Festival. She Said received fresh waves of critical acclaim with every screening at these festivals, ending in She Said being selected one of the greatest movies of 2022 by the American Film Institute. The storyline and the performances of the film’s two lead actresses, Carey Mulligan and Zoe Kazan, who play Twohey and Kantor, respectively, received a significant amount of praise.

She Said, although being a critical favourite, failed to reach its anticipated box office numbers when it debuted in theatres across the country on November 18. She Said’s box office performance was hindered by a number of issues, such as the fact that it had to compete for viewers with bigger films playing during its release date, such as Marvel’s eagerly anticipated Wakanda Forever. It’s not surprising that Universal Pictures, the company in charge of the film’s distribution, decided to make the movie available on Peacock within the customary 45 days following its theatrical release because it clearly struggled in theatres and missed the chance to replicate its critical success on the big screen.

She Said is based on the Kantor and Twohey book She Said as well as the research that they conducted for the New York Times with Rebecca Corbett. In addition to Mulligan and Kazan, Patricia Clarkson, Andre Braugher, Jennifer Ehle, Samantha Morton, and Tony Award winner Jennifer Ehle also appear in the movie. Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner of Plan B Entertainment are among the producers; Brad Pitt and Lila Yacoub, Megan Ellison, and Sue Naegle are executive producers.
