Marvel fans still find it amazing that Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman would reprise their roles as Wolverine and Logan in Deadpool 3 despite the fact that it has been a few months. For the benefit of the uninitiated, Reynolds tweeted and shared an Instagram post of a funny video that included Jackman as the “frenemies” announced Hugh’s return as Wolverine.
Hugh Jackman was questioned about Deadpool 3 during a promotional interview for his upcoming movie, The Son, with Deadline. The 54-year-old actor was questioned about how it all came about, in particular, the Wolverine and Deadpool pairing, referring to a prior Variety interview in which Jackman described the third MCU instalment as being similar to 48 Hours. Several weeks after the actor proclaimed that Logan would be his final outing something he was “fully intended” by Hugh recounted how he went like, “Uh-oh,” 20 minutes into viewing Deadpool.
Hugh Jackman joked about how Ryan Reynolds was continually nagging him to play Wolverine again. He said, “As soon as I arrived at the beach, I rang Ryan just to see what the hell was going on. And then here we are. It was so quick. And trust me, there’s not a morning I don’t wake up where Ryan Reynolds is outside my house with posters saying, ‘Please.’ He’s constantly asking me about it. And I was like, ‘Dude, I’m done. I’m done, I’m done, I’m done, I’m done, I’m done.’ So then when he rang me, he was like, ‘Are you serious?’ So yeah.”
However, Hugh Jackman had the following thought constantly lingering in the back of his mind, “I’m a terrible poker player. All this time I was saying I was done, I really meant it. But anyway, somewhere deep down, this idea was obviously lurking and brewing.” Hugh Jackman has been in a number of other tv shows and movies, including Paperback Hero, Scoop, The Fountain, Flushed Away, Snow Flower and the Secret Fan, Prisoners, etc., in addition to the X-Men film series.
