Marvel fans believe Deadpool 3 actor Hugh Jackman’s joking about spoiling a Wolverine film. Despite Wolverine’s passing in the 2017 film Logan, the actor who played the well-known character will be making his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut in the upcoming Deadpool 3 alongside Ryan Reynolds’ titular character. In connection with their entertaining public spat, Jackman recently uploaded a video on Instagram begging the Academy not to nominate Reynolds’ most recent movie Spirited for Best Original Song at the 2019 Academy Awards.

In the video, Jackman said that he had spent a year with Reynolds filming “Wolverine and Deadpool,” which made Reynolds and other fans question whether he was suggesting a title change for Deadpool 3. Some have suggested that Hugh Jackman’s statement could be hinting at not just “Deadpool 3,” but also a separate “Wolverine” film. The following are only a few of the remarks made by Jackman’s supporters:

“i think hugh just spoiled a wolverine movie by mistake”; “it typically doesn’t take a year to shoot most films. The average length of time for an actor on a film is 3 months at the most. A year’s worth of shooting is definitely indicative of more than one movie”; and “Wolverine and Deadpool??? Hold up…” .

Will Hugh Jackman be returning for another Wolverine movie?

Hugh Jackman played the role of Wolverine, a mutant character, in several “X-Men” films produced by Fox, including “The Wolverine” and “Logan,” which allowed him to take center stage in several Marvel movies. However, Wolverine will make his MCU debut in Deadpool 3, so it’s possible the franchise could want to prolong the character’s tenure rather than have him appear in just one movie. The likelihood that the actor will continue working with Marvel Studios beyond Deadpool 3 is increased by the actor’s admission that he “had a two-picture agreement [with them] from the beginning.”

It is uncertain whether Hugh Jackman will reprise his role as Wolverine in the “Logan” movie or if he will portray a different iteration of the character. If he does return as a mutant with a different fate, it could potentially extend his career in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). However, even if Jackman plays the same version of Wolverine in “Deadpool 3,” the film could provide an explanation for the character’s existence after the events of “Logan” and potentially set up a second “Wolverine” movie featuring Laura (Dafne Keen).

Some Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) fans think that Hugh Jackman may have accidentally disclosed plans for a “Wolverine” movie, but it is also possible that his mention of “Wolverine and Deadpool” was just a playful way to escalate his ongoing rivalry with Ryan Reynolds by including the character’s name in the title of the “Deadpool” movie. The speculation about a “Wolverine” movie is largely based on a brief pause in the video between the word “Wolverine” and the rest of the sentence, which could simply be the result of the actor taking a breath. Even though there hasn’t been any confirmation that Wolverine would appear in Avengers: Secret Wars, Jackman’s MCU future is promising even without a solo movie to follow Deadpool 3.
