After almost ten years of dating, Violetta Komyshan and Ansel Elgort have broken up. In a recent interview where she identified herself as “single,” the professional ballerina acknowledged her split from the actor. Nearly a year after their final red-carpet outing as a couple, the ex-couple announced their separation.
After parting ways with her high school sweetheart, Komsyshan recently spoke candidly with E! about her new love life. She said, “I think it’s fun.” In an interview with E! News after attending an event at the Brooklyn Museum, Violetta continued, “Focus on your work and your passions. I’m 26, so right now is the age to push ahead and focus on that on yourself.”
Following their meeting at NYC’s LaGuardia High School, the couple began dating in 2012. During a 2017 interview with Cosmopolitan, Komyshan had described her initial impression of Elgort and had stated, “One day freshman year I was with my friend, and he was walking down the block. I didn’t even know he went to my school — I just thought he was really attractive. I looked at him and told my friend, ‘Oh, my God, that guy’s so hot,’ and she’s like, ‘Oh, that’s Ansel, he goes to LaGuardia.'”
Ansel’s Hollywood career had just started to take off when the couple called it quits after two years together. The couple experienced their fair share of ups and downs as they got together. Despite the fact that they reconciled, Ansel mentioned it in 2015, stating, “I was doing OK, but I knew something was missing, and I was like, ‘Oh, that’s love.'”
