On November 4, 2022, Netflix released Part 1 of Manifest Season 4. It has given the audience numerous answers while also creating many new questions.
This season, Ben Stone is grappling with the death of his wife and the kidnapping of his child. Michaela, Ben’s sister, is still following her intuitions, one of which directs to a man who escaped from an experimental institution in Shanghai, China. Michaela’s spouse Zeke succumbed to frostbite when his time came to an end, and that is how he died. When Cal fell into a frigid lake, Zeke offered his life to save him. By following his Callings and rescuing Cal, he was given a new existence with no expiry date.
Death dates are important in manifests. A person who has been resurrected from the dead will die a second time during the time between their original death and resurrection. Someone would spend the same amount of time in their second life as if they had died for two days.
Ben is unable to assist because he is obsessed with finding baby Eden, so Michaela takes command of the effort to save the travelers from death on June 2, 2024. In “Rendezvous,” episode nine of season four, the team receives a joint-Calling and learns that everyone is supposed to die on this day, in addition to the risk posed to the passengers.
