Britney Spears sent her father Jamie Spears a scathing message in which she boasted that, despite being previously prohibited from doing so by her conservatorship, she is now permitted to visit spas and drink coffee. She attacked her family over her 14 year conservatorship, saying she had to “relearn how to live.” Britney was freed from her nearly 14-year conservatorship earlier last year when a judge removed the court order that was put in place to manage the singer’s financial affairs.

She said, “I feel like I’ve been programmed to be a nun half my life.” The legal binding took place in 2008, which is when the dispute initially started. Since that time until November of last year, her father has had power over her. After being introduced to a new life for a year, Britney is still having trouble adjusting and integrating into it. She documents these difficulties in Instagram posts.

According to the Mirror, one image was explicitly shared to explain “upper world crime,” which is defined as illegal activities done by members of upper socioeconomic groups. She wrote, “I mean just this year at 40 l can buy Tylenol and own my own money but it’s eye-opening to see what people can do. My family owned my estate for years, they owned my name, my star, my money, and guess what??? It gave them LOTS of power…” She continued, “Anyway, since it’s been over I have to RELEARN how to live my life…it’s really cool, but my mind used to be limited in my way of thinking cause of all the rules.”

Fans have started to comment on how much the pop star shares with the public as she uses the internet to express herself freely, with some even stating it has grown tiresome. Britney writes a hilarious note at the conclusion of her piece asking: “Can anybody out there for the love of God teach me how to lie at least???” despite this, with newfound freedom and an open mind.
