Gisele Bundchen and Tom Brady have split up. On October 28, when the couple struck a settlement and filed divorce papers in Florida, word of their separation became public. Gisele reportedly filed for divorce, and Tom reportedly “is not contesting” her choice, according to TMZ. Tom posted a statement on his Instagram Story confirming the divorce.
Tom captioned by saying, “In recent days, my wife and I finalized our divorce from one another after 13 years of marriage,” the NFL star wrote. “We arrived at this decision amicably and with gratitude for the time we spent together. We are blessed with beautiful and wonderful children who will continue to be the center of our world in every way. We will continue to work together as parents to always ensure they receive the love and attention they deserve.”
Gisele said, “With much gratitude for our time together, Tom and I have amicably finalized our divorce. My priority has always been and will continue to be our children whom I love with all my heart. We will continue co-parenting to give them the love, care and attention they deserve.” She continued, “The decision to end a marriage is never easy, but we have grown apart and while it is, of course, difficult to go through something like this, I feel blessed for the time we had together and only wish the best for Tom always.”
At the start of the NFL season in early September 2022, rumours about Tom and Gisele maybe experiencing difficulty in paradise first surfaced. The first to claim that the two were engaged in a “epic brawl” over Tom’s choice to return to the NFL was Page Six. After more than 20 years on the field and seven Super Bowl rings, the quarterback of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced in February that he would be retiring.
Tom did take a brief leave of absence from NFL training camp in August to handle a personal situation, but that was before the couple made their breakup public. When questioned by media during his 11-day absence, the QB did offer a general explanation for his absence but declined to provide further specifics, stating that his preseason absence was due to “personal” issues.
