Brad Anderson, who previously directed the movies Session 9 and The Machinist, has hired Joel Kinnaman in the main role of the upcoming action thriller The Silent Hour. A detective with hearing loss will be the main character in The Silent Hour. The movie’s script was written by Dan Hall. The movie’s financing and production will be handled by Stuart Ford of AGC Studios and Eric Paquette of Meridian Pictures. There have not yet been any other cast announcements for The Silent Hour, which is scheduled to begin filming early in 2019.

In The Silent Hour, Kinnaman’s Boston detective character experiences a workplace accident. The accident leaves the detective with hearing loss, yet sixteen years later, he starts working for the department as an interpreter. The investigator will soon have to take extraordinary measures to defend a deaf murder witness in an apartment complex from dishonest police who will do whatever to get rid of them. The movie sounds like a unique action story that will provide both heart and thrills based solely on the narrative summary.

A multi-talented actor with a long and successful career, Kinnaman has starred in several films. After appearing in the 2010 Swedish crime drama Easy Money, Kinnaman’s 2011 turn alongside Mireille Enos in the four-season mystery murder series The Killing was his big break internationally.

Kinnaman has since acted in a number of well-known movies, including The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, RoboCop, Run All Night, Child 44, Suicide Squad, and the latter’s 2021 follow-up, The Suicide Squad. The shows like House of Cards, Altered Carbon, In Treatment, Hanna, and For All Mankind have all featured Kinnaman as a guest star. The next two movies that will feature Kinnaman on a large screen are Silent Night and Sympathy for the Devil.
