Cardi B Takes a Stand Against Trump’s Remarks on Women’s Health Issues

Rapper Cardi B has voiced her disapproval of former President Trump’s recent comments regarding women's health, particularly his assertion that he would protect women "whether they like it or not." Speaking at a campaign event in Milwaukee alongside Vice President Kamala Harris, Cardi B emphasized that Trump's definition of protection does not align with women's rights, stating, "If his definition of protection is not the freedom of choice, if his definition of protection is making sure our daughters have fewer rights than our mothers, then I don’t want it!" Her remarks were met with enthusiastic applause from the audience.

This critique follows Trump's comments where he claimed that his advisers advised him against labeling himself as a "protector" of women, yet he insisted he would take that stance regardless of women's opinions. In response to Trump's rhetoric, Harris described it as "very offensive to women," highlighting the importance of recognizing women's agency and their right to make decisions about their own bodies.

Cardi B, known for her candid political commentary, had previously refrained from endorsing President Biden for re-election, citing a sense of betrayal among voters due to various issues. However, her support for Harris has rekindled her interest in the 2024 election. She revealed that Harris's entry into the race influenced her decision to vote, saying, "I wasn’t going to vote this year — I wasn’t. But Kamala Harris joining the race, she changed my mind completely."

Cardi B expressed her newfound faith in Harris, stating, "I believe in every word that comes out of her mouth," indicating a shift in her political engagement and support as the election approaches.
