Story
Renowned director of “The Greatest Showman,” Michael Gracey, is behind the lively musical drama “Better Man.” The film, which is set against the vibrant music scene of the 1980s, tells the story of Nigel (Damon Herriman), a once-famous rock star whose career has failed due to personal demons and the pressures of fame.
A varied group of people come across Nigel as he works through the difficulties of his diminishing career, such as the understanding but tough club owner Betty (Alison Steadman) and his devoted but irritated manager Peter (Steve Pemberton). The movie follows Nigel on his quest for atonement as he attempts to reclaim his former fame and mend damaged bonds with those closest to him.
In the midst of the glitter and glamor of the music business, Nigel meets Nicole (Raechelle Banno), a young, gifted musician who inspires him to pursue his musical passion once more and reminds him of his past goals. Nigel discovers a new sense of purpose and starts to face his past transgressions as he guides Nicole.
“Better Man” tells a story of resiliency, self-discovery, and the transformational power of music through original songs that perfectly capture the spirit of the time. A magnificent concert performance that marks Nigel’s victorious comeback to the stage and his acceptance of a new, more purposeful route in life, serves as the film’s climax.
Real-life musician Robbie Williams makes appearances on the film’s noteworthy soundtrack, which enhances the authenticity and vigor of the musical pieces. “Better Man” looks to be an engrossing fusion of intense musical entertainment and poignant drama.
