X to Reward Premium Users for Engaging with Each Other
X, formerly known as Twitter, the fabled social network has now gone one step further in its bid to create a community and encourage participation - it would pay premium users to interact with other premium users.
There is a new program called "X Rewards" that is a call to Premium members to interact through comments, content sharing, and connecting with other users. However, that being said, this initiative aims to make X more active and lively for premium members.
Details of the X Rewards programme have yet to be finalized but an official statement has emerged on the position of the company in question wherein their payment is said to relate in quality and volume of interactions. Premium users should, therefore, maintain good standing through frequent posting of valuable content, and by establishing meaningful discussions that merit higher rewards.
X believes that the X Rewards program will not only benefit users but also the overall health of the online community. This, the company hopes, would help in reducing the problematic use of the platform, like trolling, harassment, and misinformation through positive engagement.
The X Rewards program is something positive, though it remains to be seen what kind of affect the effort will have. Worrisome voices began saying that the program would lead to spamming and low-quality content because of the incentives.
However, X is really quite optimistic about how the program X Rewards can make the social media landscape much more enjoyable and rewarding for its users.
