Implications of the Trade:

The 32-year-old point guard, Cory Joseph, brings valuable playoff experience to the Pacers, boasting 82 games of postseason action throughout his career. Despite the Pacers’ active moves before the trade deadline, including acquiring Doug McDermott and trading Buddy Hield, retaining Joseph does not align with their current plans.

Joseph’s performance with the Golden State Warriors this season has been modest, averaging 2.4 points and 1.6 assists over 26 games. Throughout his 13-year career, he maintains career averages of 6.9 points, 3.0 assists, and 2.5 rebounds.

Interestingly, this trade marks Joseph’s second tenure with the Indiana Pacers, having previously played for the team from 2017 to 2019.
