Sean “Diddy” Combs has been indicted on serious charges that paint a grim picture of his alleged actions over the years. The indictment accuses Combs of engaging in a “persistent and pervasive pattern” of physical, verbal, emotional, and sexual abuse toward women and others. The three-count indictment further alleges that starting from 2009, he was involved in a series of violent assaults, including striking, punching, dragging, and throwing objects at victims.
Additionally, the indictment claims that Combs exploited his various business enterprises and employees to facilitate, cover up, and carry out his abuse, extending to commercial sex acts. The complaint points to a range of alleged crimes, including “sex trafficking, forced labor, interstate transportation for purposes of prostitution, coercion, and enticement to engage in prostitution, narcotics offenses, kidnapping, arson, bribery, and obstruction of justice.”
Prosecutors argue that Combs maintained “absolute loyalty” from members of his businesses through intimidation, violence, and threats, enabling a criminal enterprise to go undetected. The indictment suggests that the Combs Enterprise used manipulation, bribery, and threats of retaliation against witnesses to cover up its illegal activities.
A federal indictment released Tuesday in New York accuses Combs of orchestrating and managing a “criminal enterprise” through his business empire. The indictment details a sweeping 14-page complaint against Combs, charging him with racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking. As of now, a news conference is set to take place at 11:30 a.m. ET at the U.S. attorney’s office to provide more details on the indictment.
