According to reports, Aaron Rodgers will receive less money from the New York Jets.
Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports that the former MVP replaced a prior agreement with the Green Bay Packers in which he had roughly $110 million guaranteed in full with a new two-year, $75 million contract.
According to this new agreement, Rodgers will receive a roster bonus of $35 million this weekend along with base salaries of $1.8 million for the 2023 season and $38.2 million for the 2024 season. If he’s still playing in 2024, he’ll also get a no-trade and no-franchise tag clause that will let him enter free agency without any restrictions.
The $75 million guaranteed by the Jets will reportedly be split up over five years.

In March 2022, Rodgers initially agreed to a four-year, $200 million deal with the Packers.
The new contract was announced during Rodgers’ second training camp week with the Jets, which will be covered by HBO’s “Hard Knocks.”
Expectations are high in New York following the Jets’ addition of a four-time MVP at quarterback. The Jets were a strong team last season, almost everywhere else aside from the quarterback position. Their preseason schedule is set to begin Aug. 3 against the Cleveland Browns, and they will kick off their season on Sept. 11 at home in a pivotal divisional game against the Buffalo Bills.
